The right type of accommodation can make all the difference when learning abroad. Clients need a place to rest after a hard day’s work, they need it conveniently located to reduce travel time to and from the school and they need sufficient space to study as well a quiet bedroom for a good night’s sleep. Some clients require varying degrees of comfort, which is why we can provide a range of accommodation options to meet students’ needs.
Every type of accommodation we offer has been hand-selected by Oxford Elite. You won’t stay with a host family that we haven’t personally met, or in a hotel that we haven’t visited. We believe that this ensures you will feel comfortable whilst staying in the UK and will help you make the most of your learning experience.
If you live abroad and you want your English studies to be intense. Homestay adds another dimension to the whole experience. Each residence/family has been specifically selected to meet exacting standards. You will see British family life in action. You will find that the host families have a genuine desire to make your stay pleasant. They really do care that you enjoy your stay.
This option is aimed at those who wish to maximise their opportunities to practise speaking English in the comfort of their host family’s home.
Staying with a host family can be an enriching experience. Primarily it supplements the learning process as it allows clients to develop English language skills in a practical context, outside of the classroom. All our host families are native English speakers and evening meals are eaten with the host family, which provides an excellent opportunity for students to put into practice what they have learnt in class that day.
In order to encourage students to make the most of their opportunities to speak the English language, Oxford Elite has a policy of never placing two students of the same mother tongue with any one host family.
As standard, each host family will provide students with:
- a single room,
- a quiet area to study,
- breakfast & evening meal shared with the family,
- above all, the opportunity to experience life in an English home.
Each host family has been carefully selected to ensure not only that they are able to provide accommodation of a sufficiently high standard, but that they have a genuine interest in welcoming foreign students and that they speak English. We maintain high standards by carrying out routine inspections on host families and will always seek student feedback on their homestay experiences.
Your Personal Assistant will be on hand to deal with any issues or queries you may have in relation to your accommodation both before and during your stay. If you have a particular circumstances which my be relevant to your choice of homestay accommodation (such as an allergy or a special dietary requirement), you should inform your Personal Assistant so that we can make arrangements to place you with a host family that is able to cater for your needs.
